Opportunity
Our Activity Assistant/Coordinator assists in planning, organizing, facilitating and directing recreational activity programs for residents in the nursing facility. Assists in preparing for events by obtaining and organizing necessary materials for activities. Directs and organizes such activities as sports, dramatics, games and arts and crafts to assist residents to develop interpersonal relationships, to socialize effectively, and to develop confidence needed to participate in group activities. Follows regulated content of program in accordance with individualized patient capabilities, needs and interests. Assist in the organization and coordination of special outings and may accompany residents on outings. Assist in planning and documenting a monthly activity event calendar. Participate in assessing and documenting progress charts and periodic reports for medical staff and other members of the treatment team reflecting resident reaction and evidence of progress or regression. Work with Activity Director to network with community organizations, businesses, schools and individuals to form a solid volunteer program. Participate in planning and implementing internal and external community events.
QualificationsEducation:
Minimal high school education with additional related education preferred, but not mandatory
Prefer previous experience with all aspects of a recreational activity program designed for residents in the assisted living facility.
Previous experience working with Alzheimer's residents is a plus +
Licenses/Certifications:
Valid driver's license and ability to meet company requirements related to transporting residents.
Responsibilities
Plan, facilitate, and document monthly activity program. Documentation includes calendar, resident participation, care plan and individualized resident assessment.
Network with community organizations, businesses, schools and individuals to form a volunteer program.
Ability to provide direct physical and emotional care to residents including maintaining confidentiality in accordance with HIPPA regulations.
Recognize and report, to charge staff, any change in resident condition, accidents or incidents involving residents, staff or visitors.
Must be able to work independently or with peers to provide viable recreation/activity program.
Must be willing to work evenings, weekends, and have a flexible schedule.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
